Hudson District

inset-loveThe Hudson District is an up-and-coming neighbourhood at the heart of Victoria’s ‘living local’ movement, an amenity-rich hub of culture and entertainment.   There’s plenty to do here. Begin your day with a workout at Hudson Yoga Studio, then head over to browse local vendors at the Victoria Public Market at The Hudson. Afterwards, sit and enjoy freshly roasted espresso with friends at 2% Jazz while planning your evening.
On the weekends, take a short walk to see Victoria Royals WHL hockey, Harbour Cats baseball, or the latest production at the Empire Theatres of Cineplex Odeon. If you prefer shopping, trendy stores and local boutiques surround the neighbourhood in every direction, and you’re never far from the Inner Harbour.   The Hudson District is a growing community – it’s a place for people who appreciate the social, liveable, and functional conveniences that a truly ‘local’ neighbourhood provides.

Victoria Public Market at The Hudson
The Victoria Public Market at the Hudson highlights local food producers at every level. More than just a business, the Victoria Public Market is a social enterprise managed by the non-profit Victoria Downtown Public Market Society.
A meeting place where local food producers share ideas with one another and their customers, The market is a community hub for learning about local farms and food production, as well as regional food security. It’s food, art, and entertainment under one roof in downtown Victoria, and hosts food-related speakers, book signings, movies, presentations, local musicians and large and small events.
Permanent vendors include: The French Oven, Silk Road Tea, Salt Spring Island Cheese, La Cocina de Mama Oli, Island Spice Trade, Roast, Victoria Pie Co., Cowichan Bay Seafood, Vij’s Sutra, Damn Fine Cake Company, and Il Dolce Gelato. In addition to these permanent vendors, there will be day tables set up for short-term vendors, as well as the weekly outdoor Farmers’ Markets on the Carriageway, between The Hudson and The Hudson Mews.
